Membership
If you’re looking to learn how to brew or become a better brewer while making some friends along the way, 50 West is the place to be. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we do take our brewing seriously and we’ve got the beer to show for it. As a member you’ll get access to our monthly meetings and events which often feature industry recognized experts. You’ll also take part in hands-on learning experiences designed to super-charge your brewing IQ, while also being fun and engaging.
What are meetings like?
Our monthly meetings give brewers a chance to connect with other members, share beers, and talk shop. Most meetings start with club announcements, followed by our featured presenter / speaker, and end with our monthly tasting competition. We strive to make meetings fun, engaging, and education focused. Guest speakers often include nationally recognized industry experts like Brad Smith and Michael Tonsmeire.
How do I become a member?
Membership is currently open to all homebrewers in the Northern Virginia area who are willing to pay $30 in annual dues ($20 if you're an active AHA member associated with 50 West Homebrew Club). Become a member
Why do I have to pay dues?
Your dues help us pay for the club’s recurring operational costs including: insurance, ABC event licenses, and administrative costs required to run the club. We like to get additional goodies like cool 50 West t-shirts and access to hands-on sensory training. All of this stuff costs moolah. But trust us, it’s worth it.
